What we collect, and for how long
Short version: audits are not stored at all, and we only have your contact details if you write to us.
Retention
| Data | Kept for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Audit reports and screenshots | Not stored | Sent to your browser and kept only in that tab. Closing the tab discards them. |
| Operational logs | Up to 30 days | Timestamps and error details kept by our hosting provider to keep the service running. |
| Service inquiries | 90 days after last contact | Your name, email, website address and message, in our mailbox only. |
When you run an audit
We collect the website address you submit. Our browser then loads that public page the way any visitor would and records its computed styles, the position of visible elements, and one desktop and one mobile screenshot.
We don't ask for an account, an email address or any credentials, and we don't access pages behind a login.
The finished report and its screenshots are sent straight to your browser. We keep no copy: there is no database of reports, and no list of the sites people have audited.
Who can see a report
Only you. The report exists in the browser tab that ran the audit. It survives a refresh, and it is gone when you close the tab. There is no link that anyone else could open.
To keep or share a report, save it as a PDF from the report page. If you audit a site you don't own, remember that the report describes a public page and contains its screenshots. Share it considerately.
When you send an inquiry
The contact form is optional and separate from the audit. It collects your name, email address, website address and message and emails them to us so that we can reply. The site itself keeps no copy, and we use the details only for that conversation.
Cookies and tracking
Squint sets no advertising or analytics cookies and embeds no third-party trackers.
Deletion requests
To have an inquiry deleted sooner, or to ask that your site not be audited, write to us through the contact form and include the address.
